  • CLASSES OFFERED  “A”/ “B”/ “C”:             

                                                                               

 

  • DRAWBAR HEIGHT 20” MAXIMUM AND 18” FROM CENTER OF AXLE. TRACTORS WITH 3 POINT HITCHES MUST HAVE STAYS SO HITCH CANNOT RAISE ABOVE 20”. HITCH TO HAVE A 3” HORIZONTAL RING. NO VERTICAL RING ALLOWED. THE RING CANNOT HAVE SUPPORT FROM BEHIND THAT WOULD KEEP THE HOOK AND CHAIN FROM HANGING FREE AND UNOBSTRUCTED. HEIGHT CHECKED AT THE HIGHEST PORTION OF THE RING.

  • ALL TRACTORS MUST HAVE WORKING GOVERNORS. 

  • MAXIMUM RPM FOR 2 CYL TRACTORS IS 1700. MAXIMUM RPM FOR 4 CLY TRACTORS IS 2500. MAXIMUM RPM FOR 6 CYL TRACTORS IS 3000. EXCEPTIONS TO THESE RULES WILL BE DETERMINED BY CVATPA BASED ON CERTAIN MAKES AND MODELS HAVING A HIGHER FACTORY RPM LIMIT THAN OTHERS IN THEIR CATEGORY. 

  • INSTEAD OF RANDOM RPM CHECKS, A “PROTEST ONLY” METHOD BY WHICH MEMBERS WILL PROTEST, IN WRITING, OTHER MEMBERS IN THEIR CLASS AND WITHIN 5 PLACES OF THEIR FINISH. THE PROTEST MUST BE MADE BY THE END OF THE FOLLOWING CLASS AND GIVEN TO A BOARD MEMBER, OR TRACK OFFICIAL, OR TAKEN TO THE ANNOUNCER STAND.

  • HORN CAN BLOW 3 TIMES. 1ST AND 2ND BLOWS, PULLER MUST SLOW TO TURN THE HORN OFF. 3RD BLOW, PULLER IS DISQUALIFIED FOR TROPHIES AND POINTS BUT WILL RECEIVE 1 POINT FOR THE PULL IF HE/SHE IS A CLUB MEMBER.

  • SUITCASE WEIGHTS ALLOWED. SHOULD WEIGHTS OR ANY OTHER PARTS FALL TO THE GROUND DURING THE PULL, PULLER WILL BE DISQUALIFIED. WEIGHT BRACKETS SPECIFICATION: 11' FROM THE CENTER OF THE REAR AXLE MAX LENGTH TO THE FURTHEST POINT FORWARD WHETHER THAT IS THE BAR OR THE WEIGHT ITSELF.

  • DURING PULL, IF TRACTOR TIRES CROSS THE WHITE LINE, PULL WILL BE MEASURED AT THAT POINT.

  • NO SHIFTING GEARS WHILE THE SLED IS IN MOTION. AMPLI-TOR HYDRA-POWER TORQUE AMPLIFIERS WILL BE ALLOWED TO SHIFT IN ALL CLASSES.

  • RACING FUELS ARE ALLOWED. NO INJECTED GASES OR NITROUS.

  • THERE WILL BE NO LIMIT ON THE NUMBER OF HOOKS PER PERSON; HOWEVER, IF THE SAME TRACTOR IS PULLED MORE THAN ONCE PER CLASS, ONLY THE FIRST PULLER COUNTS. ALL OTHER DRIVERS OR REPEAT PULLS OF THAT TRACTOR IN THAT CLASS WILL PULL AS AN EXHIBITION.

  • 75 FT RULE WILL APPLY FOR ALL PULLERS (BACK UP AND PULL AGAIN).

  • WHEELIE BARS ARE MANDATORY ON ALL TRACTORS IN ALL CLASSES FOR CLUB MEMBERS OR FOR NON-MEMBERS WHO PULL MORE THAN ONCE DURING THE YEAR. THAT IS, THEY CAN PULL ONE EVENT ONLY WITHOUT WHEELIE BARS, BUT AT ANY EVENT AFTER THAT, THEY WILL BE REQUIRED TO HAVE WHEELIE BARS OR THEY WON’T BE ALLOWED TO PULL. SEE THE SPECIFICATIONS SHOWN BELOW.

  • ONLY 2-WHEEL DRIVE TRACTORS WILL BE ALLOWED TO PULL.

  • NO DRUGS OR ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ALLOWED/

  • ONLY MEMBERS WILL RECEIVE POINTS FOR THEIR PULL. A MEMBER MUST HAVE AT LEAST 12 POINTS TO WIN THE CLASS CHAMPIONSHIP IN WHICH THEY ARE COMPETING. THE LOWEST POINTS PULL WILL BE DROPPED FOR EACH MEMBER.

  • POINTS WILL BE AWARDED TO THE PULLER (MEMBER) FOR EACH EVENT. TRACTOR SUBSTITUTES CAN BE MADE BETWEEN EVENTS. IF A PULLER PULLS TWO TRACTORS IN THE SAME CLASS AT THE SAME EVENT, THE POINTS WILL BE AWARDED TO EACH TRACTOR AND BE KEPT SEPARATE FROM THAT POINT FORWARD FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE YEAR.

  • IF AN “A” CLASS TRACTOR IS PULLING IN A “B” CLASS OR A “B” CLASS TRACTOR IS PULLING IN A “C” CLASS, THE TRACTOR MUST MEET THEIR ORIGINAL CLASS SAFETY REQUIREMENTS AND MUST BE EQUIPED WITH WHEELIE BARS AND A WORKING KILL SWITCH.

  • NO DRUGS OR ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ALLOWED.

CVATPA WHEELIE BAR SPECIFICATIONS

  • WHEELIE BARS MUST HAVE PADS. NO WHEELS. THE WHEELIE BAR MUST BE ABLE TO SUPPORT THE WEIGHT OF THE TRACTOR IN THE HEAVIEST CLASS PULLED. TO TEST THE OWNER SHOULD JACK UP THE PADS SO TRACTOR IS COMPLETELY OFF THE GROUND.​

  • “B” CLASS TRACTORS MUST BE 1963 OR OLDER

  • “D” CLASS TRACTORS MUST USE THE REAR END AND SHEET METAL FROM A FARM TRACTOR 1963 OR OLDER. NON-TURBO TRACTORS MUST USE THE REAR END AND SHEET METAL FROM A FARM TRACTOR OF ANY YEAR. HOOD MAY BE MODIFIED AND/OR EXTENDED TO ACCOMMODATE THE ENGINE.​

  • TRACTORS MAY HAVE FRAMES EXTENDED OR REPLACED, BUT NO PART OF THE TRACTOR (INCLUDING WEIGHT BRACKETS) SHALL EXTEND FURTHER THAN 13 FEET (156 INCHES) FROM THE CENTER OF THE REAR WHEELS. THE REAR WEIGHTS SHALL NOT EXTEND PAST THE REAR TIRES. Weight brackets specification: 11’ from the center of the rear axle max length to the furthest point forward whether that is the bar or the weight itself. THE WHEELBASE OF THE TRACTOR (CENTER OF FRONT WHEEL TO CENTER OF REAR WHEEL) SHALL NOT EXCEED 10 ½ FEET (126 INCHES).

  • ALL AUTOMOTIVE TRANSMISSIONS MUST BE COVERED WITH A CURRENT (NOT OVER 4 YEARS OLD) SEMA APPROVED SAFETY BLANKET OR SHIELD AND BE SECURED AS SPECIFIED BY SEMA.​

  • ALL ENGINES USING A CLUTCH MUST BE EQUIPPED WITH A CURRENT SEMA (OR NHRA) APPROVED CLUTCH HOUSING, FLYWHEEL, PRESSURE PLATE, AND CLUTCH DISC, OR THE CLUTCH, FLYWHEEL, PRESSURE PLATE, AND CLUTCH DISC MUST BE COVERED WITH A SEMA APPROVED SAFETY BLANKET OR SHIELD AND SECURED AS SPECIFIED BY SEMA. ALL TRACTORS MUST HAVE WELDED ON OR STEEL COMPRESSION HUBS, PRESSED STEEL OR ALUMINUM WHEELS, STEEL FLYWHEEL. NO HOMEMADE SHIELDS ALLOWED.​

  • THE REMAINING DRIVE TRAIN TO THE ORIGINAL TRACTOR TRANSMISSION (OR DIFFERENTIAL IF NOT USING THE TRACTOR TRANSMISSION) MUST BE SHIELDED 360 DEGREES WITH 3/16 INCH STEEL OR 3/8 INCH ALUMINUM AND FASTENED EVERY 6 INCHES WITH 3/8 INCH GRADE 8 OR BETTER BOLTS OR BUTT SEAM WELDED.​

  • ALL ENGINES MUST BE EQUIPPED WITH AN ELECTRIC COOLING FAN. NO OEM OR OEM REPLACEMENT FANS ARE ALLOWED.​

  • ALL AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS MUST BE EQUIPPED WITH A SAFETY SWITCH TO PREVENT STARTING UNLESS IN PARK OR NEUTRAL.  TRACTORS EQUIPPED WITH MANUAL TRANSMISSIONS MUST HAVE A SAFETY SWITCH SO CLUTCH MUST BE DEPRESSED IN ORDER TO START ENGINE.​

  • ALL TRACTORS MUST BE EQUIPPED WITH KILL SWITCHES AND WHEELIE BARS AS SPECIFIED BY CVATPA.  KILL SWITCHES MUST CUT OFF THE IGNITION AND STOP THE ELECTRIC FUEL PUMP, IF SO EQUIPPED.​

  • ALL TRACTORS MUST BE EQUIPPED WITH A “RETURN TO IDLE” DEAD MAN THROTTLE. ALL VEHICLES USING A FOOT THROTTLE MUST USE A TOE STRAP.​

  • ALL EXHAUST PIPES MUST POINT STRAIGHT UPWARDS.​

  • A 2 ½ POUND ABC FIRE EXTINGUISHER (FULLY CHARGED) MUST BE MOUNTED WITHIN EASY REACH OF THE DRIVER.​

  • HITCH POINT MUST NOT BE OVER 20 INCHES HIGH OR CLOSER THAN 18 INCHES FROM A LINE EXTENDING CENTER TO CENTER OF THE REAR WHEELS. TRACTOR WILL HAVE A RING HITCH WITH A THREE (3) INCH EYE. NO FLOATING DRAWBARS. HITCH MUST BE RIGID IN ALL DIRECTIONS. DRAWBARS MUST BE CONSTRUCTED SO THAT IN THE EVENT OF DRAWBAR BREAKAGE, THE DRAWBAR SUPPORTS DO NOT PULL FROM A TOP LINK OR BRACE ABOVE THE CENTER LINE OF THE REAR AXLE OF THE VEHICLE.​

  • TIRES MAY BE CUT.​

  • TRACTORS MUST HAVE SAFETY SHIELDS OF A MINIMUM OF 1/8 INCH THICK STEEL ON EACH SIDE OF THE ENGINE EXTENDING THE FULL LENGTH OF THE ENGINE. THE SHIELD MUST EXTEND AT LEAST 2 INCHES BELOW THE POINT OF THE LOWEST THROW OF THE CRANKSHAFT (UNLESS FRAME IS A SOLID OR WEDGE STYLE) AND TO THE TOP OF THE PISTON TRAVEL.  SHIELD MUST NOT BE ATTACHED TO THE ENGINE. STARTER, MOTOR MOUNTS AND OTHER ACCESSORIES DO NOT QUALIFY AS BEING PART OF THE SHIELD.​

  • ALL TRACTORS MUST BE EQUIPPED WITH A ROLL BAR OR ROLL CAGE. THE ROLL BARS AND ROLL CAGES MUST BE OF SUFFICIENT STRENGTH AND HEIGHT TO PROTECT THE DRIVER.  A FACTORY MADE ROPS WILL BE ADEQUATE. ALL ROLLS BARS, ROLL CAGES AND ROPS MUST BE ATTACHED TO THE MAIN FRAME OR AXLES OF THE TRACTOR.  ROLL BARS, ROLL CAGES AND ROPS MUST BE OF SUFFICIENT STRENGTH STEEL (NO ALUMINUM) TO PROTECT THE DRIVER AND SUPPORT THE TRACTOR IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT.  AUTOMOTIVE EXHAUST PIPE WILL NOT BE ALLOWED FOR CONSTRUTION OF ROLL BARS AND ROLL CAGES.​

  • TRACTORS MUST HAVE BACK ON SEAT, MINIMUM OF 6 INCHES HIGH, MEASURED FROM TOP OF SEAT RIM.​

  • TRACTORS MUST BE EQUIPPED WITH A FOUR (4) OR FIVE (5) POINT RACING STYLE HARNESS AND DRIVERS MUST HAVE THEM FASTENED WHILE PULLING.  HARNESSES REQUIRE A 16.1 SFI SPEC ON ALL RESTRAINT ASSEMBLIES.​

  • HELMETS ARE MANDATORY. ALL HELMETS MUST MEET SNELL 90 MINIMUM, SFI SPEC 31.1, 31.2, 41.1, OR 41.2.​

  • TRACTOR MUST HAVE WIDE FRONT END. 48” CENTER TO CENTER TIRES MINIMUM.​

  • ANY PROTEST MUST BE FILED WITH A CVATPA OFFICIAL, BEFORE THE CLASS ENDS. PERSONS MAKING THE PROTEST MUST PAY A $500 PROTEST FEE (THAT WILL BE A DONATION TO THE CLUB). THE PERSON MAKING THE PROTEST IS ALSO SUBJECT TO HAVING HIS/HER VEHICLE PROTESTED AS WELL.​

  • SMALL BLOCKS MAY PULL IN BIG BLOCK CLASS BUT WILL NOT RECEIVE POINTS IF THEY DO. NO BIG BLOCK WILL COMPETE IN SMALL BLOCK CLASS FOR ANY REASON, UNLESS APPROVED BY A CVATPA OFFICIAL.​

  • VEHICLE MUST BE IN NEUTRAL OR PARK WHILE HOOKING TO OR UNHOOKING FROM SLED. DRIVER MUST ALSO RAISE HANDS WHILE HOOKING OR UNHOOKING FROM SLED.​

  • ALL PULLING VEHICLES MUST HAVE A NEUTRAL SAFETY LIGHT AND A REVERSE SAFETY LIGHT.

    • A WHITE LIGHT, AUTOMOTIVE QUALITY, MINIMUM OF TWO (2) INCHES IN DIAMETER, MUST BE MOUNTED WITHIN 30 INCHES OF THE HOOKING POINT AND WITHIN SIX (6) INCHES OF THE CENTER LINE. LIGHT SHOULD BE ILLUMINATED WHEN VEHICLE IS IN THE NEUTRAL POSITION. THIS LIGHT SHOULD BE DESIGNATED BY A LETTER N MARKED ON THE CENTER OF THE LIGHT.

    • A WHITE LIGHT, AUTOMOTIVE QUALITY, MINIMUM OF TWO (2) INCHES IN DIAMETER, MUST BE MOUNTED WITHIN 30 INCHES OF THE HOOKING POINT AND WITHIN SIX (6) INCHES OF THE CENTER LINE. LIGHT SHOULD BE ILLUMINATED WHEN VEHICLE IS IN THE REVERSE POSITION. THIS LIGHT SHOULD BE DESIGNATED BY A LETTER R MARKED ON THE CENTER OF THE LIGHT.

    • BOTH LIGHTS AND THE STARTER INTERRUPTER SWITCH WILL BE OPERATED OFF OF THE SHIFTER LEVER AND NOT BY DRIVER OPERATED FUNCTION.​

  • FRONT AXLE SUPPORTS SHOULD CONNECT TO EACH FRAME RAIL INLINE AND EXTEND TOWARDS THE FRONT OF THE TRACTOR. FRONT SKID/AXLE SUPPORT SHOULD BE RADIAL AS TO PREVENT DIGGING INTO THE TRACK. FRONT AXLE SUPPORT FRAME SHOULD BE STRONG ENOUGH TO SUPPORT FRONT END WEIGHT OF TRACTOR. SUPPORT SHOULD HAVE A MAXIMUM OF FOUR (4) INCH GROUND CLEARANCE. (OPTIONAL)​

  • WEIGHTS MUST BE SECURELY FASTENED TO THE TRACTOR. NO RUBBER STRAPS (I.E. BUNGEE CORDS) ALLOWED HOLDING WEIGHTS IN PLACE.​

  • ALL TRACTORS SHOULD BE NAMED. POINTS WILL GO TO THE TRACTOR, NOT THE DRIVER.​​

  • HOOK FEE WILL BE $15 PER HOOK. $15 PAYBACK FOR TOP WINNER AS LONG AS MORE THAN ONE TRACTOR IN CLASS.

  • THERE WILL BE NO LIMIT ON THE NUMBER OF HOOKS PER PERSON; HOWEVER, IF THE SAME TRACTOR IS PULLED MORE THAN ONCE PER CLASS, ONLY THE FIRST PULLER COUNTS. ALL OTHER DRIVERS OR REPEAT PULLS OF THAT TRACTOR IN THAT CLASS WILL PULL AS EXHIBITION
